Research Of opening sequences

Looking for an opening sequence for our film was very hard due to the lack of movies in our particular genre. for example there are only a small number of films that we could put under UK grime drama. but then we looked at our how we had planned our film to be and we noticed that we had a bit of black gangster movies. here are a few opening sequences that inspired me and my group.

Kidulthood is one of the films that we used as inspiration what we were planning to do was to take that sort of atmosphere and character persona and use it in our this way our film would seem more enjoyable and draw the viewer in. We observed the type of costumes that the characters were dressed in and how the lighting effected the scene all in all we nit picked the details of how this opening sequence was created and tried ed to see if we could produce something on this high level.

Not only did we look at films we also looked at the UK grime music genre. Which we tried to use for our soundtrack. grime music is listen to all the participants of the group and is much favoured and as we know it is also favoured by the our target audience- Young adults and teenagers. same as kidulthood Ransom has this kind of atmosphere that me and my group desperately wanted to put in our sequence, this would bring edge and a sense of reality to our film.

Boys in the hood is an example of black gangster films these kind of films also have a mixture of comedy, action, drama and a little hint of romance. It is basically based around the struggle and how to survive it which is the exact flavour that estate of mind is going for.
