Production Log- part 1

Whist planning these meetings we also looked at our smart objectives which are making are our targets for our sequence.

S: specific
M: measurable
A: achievable
R: realistic
T: timely

Target 1: finish filming by Monday 8th March 2010 so that we are able to start editing in our Tuesday lesson.

Target 2: finish editing by Tuesday 23rd March so that we can focus on finishing our blogs and prepare to do our evaluations.

Target 3: upload our opening onto YouTube by Tuesday 30th March 2010

Meeting 1 - 7th January 2010

We were talking about what genre we want our opening to be put under and we all thought that we should think out side the box, Myrin came up with the idea that we should do an African comedy which we all agreed that it most certainly was out of the box. We were all excited about it and with out a second of thought we all got researching and started looking at the many different types of African comedy until we found one specific piece that

To be quiet honest we did get a bit distracted and ended up being hooked on this sitcom this fueled our motivation even more to do this. As soon as we went back to work we sorted out our storyboard and thought of different locations that we could use, we didn't end up sorting everything in this one session so we arranged to meet again.

Meeting 2- 14th January 2010

After we had all gone our separate ways we all had done some work for the film. Terry And Duane talked about what they had done and how they think we should film it. Mryin can up with idea that we should use the school and set the story of a young Nigerian boy starting his new life in London. My idea was to call it tunde in London and I had set up who was who and what costumes were to be worn. Once everything was set we planned that the next day we would film.

Meeting 3 18th January 2010

We started filming with Terry playing as Tunde and myself acting as his mother Extras included Anisha being the teacher and Dominique as the student. We continued to film all day and then looked at what we had done. After watching the footage over and over, it seemed to look like a sitcom rather than a film opening we was seen as a serious issue. After some intense debate we decided that it was not exactly working out from then we ended this first project.

Meeting 4- 19 th January 2010

After the failure of our first project, we all felt demotivated that we had not done a good job. I gave the rest of the group a mini prep talk and soon after we all went back to square one and started to brainstorm.

Terry came out with the idea thta we should do a film that would appeal to us and other youth. I came up with the idea that we should take influence from such movies like- 'kidulthood' and 'bullet boy'.
My group gave me the responsibility of creating a storyline that will meet our targets which is to create a touching film that will reach the the hearts of youth.
